As the global demand for solar energy grows, so does the responsibility to manage end-of-life solar panels responsibly and effectively and that is why through our strategic partner Compo Matte™ we are proud to offer solar panel recycling services, this not only manages the safe disposal of the old or damaged solar panels, but it also means we can repurpose them in a safe, reliable and environmentally friendly way.
Why should you recycle your old solar panels?
It is the right and proper thing to do, and by recycling your old solar panels you are going a long way to protect the environment, you are stopping the metals and chemicals being put in to landfill sites up and down the country and you are protecting your families future.

The average solar panel sold in the early days were not as effective, efficient or as reliable as the newer modern panels and of course we understand that science and technology has improved and the same applies to solar panel technology.
As an example a solar panel fitted in 2009, 2010 will already begin reaching the end of their viable life phase. What this means in layman's terms is the older solar panels don't allow you to generate as much electricity or perform as they did when they were newer and younger (sounds like human beings).
If you choose to upgrade your old solar panels for the new modern panels, not only will you benefit from better performance and increasing the return on your investment but your old panels will not go into landfill, they will be recycled helping save the planet.

Solar Panel Upgrade Scheme
You can save money on your solar panel purchase by taking part in our solar panel upgrade scheme.
Working alongside Compo Matte™ who specialise in environmentally friendly products, we are able to utilise their contacts to recycle the solar panel products including the glass and plastics and removing all of the recyclable parts.
How do you join the SFIR solar panel upgrade scheme?
- Contact us on: 03333 222 600 and register your interest.
- Registering with SFIR is free to do and doesn't cost you anything.
- Have a discussion regarding your existing solar panels
- Arrange for one of assessors to visit and explain the scheme in greater detail.
- Get a FREE no obligation quotation in writing.
- If you decide to place an order with SFIR, and you upgrade your older panels, then SFIR will give you £1,000 towards the cost of the new system and we will take away your old panels and have them safely recycled.
You might ask, is it really that simple? The answer to that is no, not really.
From your perspective it is nice and simple, clean and efficient, but from our side this is where the hard work begins.
Once you have agreed to upgrade, we will send one of our installation managers around to view your system up close, they will take the details of your old solar panels, we will arrange for the scaffolding to be erected and give you a date when the old solar panels will be removed and the new solar panels installed, commissioned and tested before completing the contract. The scaffolding will be removed and your home will be operational and ready to generate even more free electricity.
Some points to note:
We never start a Contract within your 14 day consumer cancellation period.
The product is Guaranteed for 10-years (insurance backed).
Your existing Feed in Tariff is not affected and continues for the remainder of the original FIT Contract with your utility provider, nothing changes.
