SFIR Roof Coating is purely aesthetic and is a clean treat and protect process that can make your home look beautiful again.
The process is guaranteed to clean the roof and make it free from unsightly moss and lichen and having a clean roof also stops your gutters becoming blocked. Once the roof has been cleaned it is then treated with a biocide treatment to slow down any regrowth of moss or lichen, the ridges and verges are pointed to make them watertight and weatherproof and then the final part of the process is to apply the finishing touch, which is your personal choice of colour or a clear coat to make your home stand out from the others in the street.
We offer a clean treat and protect process, which transforms and changes the look of your home in a very dramatic way.
Look at the property above and see the pre-process picture and look how dark, dirty and aged the roof looks and then look at the picture to the right and you can see the visible and spectacular result having been cleaned, treated and finished in the customers choice of colour and I think you have to agree this transformation is amazing.
At SFIR Roof Coating, we are committed to providing our clients with the highest level of customer satisfaction. We strive to provide a comprehensive professional service, which transforms the property, adding value, limiting the maintenance you have to carry out at the property, while at the same time explaining fully the process and the benefits of having the roof of your property professionally cleaned and treated.
Moss growth is a problem here in the UK, particularly on north facing roofs. The biggest issue with moss growth is it attracts birds, it looks unsightly, it can cause issues with tiles and slates.
As well as moss issues you will probably have growth in your gutters. This occurs because of the moss and plant growth and birds dropping seeds on to the roof, which pollinate.
The transformation of your property starts with the cleaning of the roof, this is the first part of the roof coating process and is carried out with skill and care. Our team first check the roof to ensure there are no broken tiles and to make sure the roof is watertight.
Working from the ridge tiles at the top of the roof down to the gutter line, the roof is cleaned of all the moss and lichen and any growth is removed from gutters. The roof is then treated with a biocide to slow down any regrowth of moss or lichen and then the final part of the process is to recoat the tiles in the colour of the customers choice.
When our team arrive, they start by checking the condition of the roof. A traditional roof is constructed using timbers, joists on the floor, rafters running from the eaves to the ridge, a weatherproof membrane or bitumen felt is then applied to the rafters, tanalised battens are fitted on top and then either tiles or slates are used to finish.
The transformation starts with the roof wash. After checking your roof for any cracked or broken tiles and repairing any that are needed, the team start the wash. Washing downwards from the ridge following the natural flow of the roof, cleaning all of the moss and lichen from the tiles getting them ready for part two.
We know that accidents happen, which is why our service includes us replacing up to fifty cracked or broken tiles. Whether it's a small hole or a large crack, we can fix it quickly and effectively by replacing those tiles that need to be changed. We do this after washing the roof as this gives us the best view of your roof.
As part of the process we repoint the verge when needed, after cementing the verge we then colour the verge grey to match the lead on the roof.
All ridge tiles are checked to ensure they are correctly bedded in place and the same applies to valleys, once these are checked and good we're ready to coat.
When you choose SFIR Exterior Roof Coating, you can rest assured that you're getting the best roof in the whole street. We take pride in our work and always strive for customer satisfaction.
